Ultrasound pictures

Here is little Jack's profile.
And a tiny foot.
And his legs crossed. I was SO worried that we wouldn't be able to find out what he was. Thankfully, he gave us three perfectly good shots a little later on. Such a good baby!
Here he was putting his fingers in and out of his mouth.
And one last profile shot.
And here are the proud parents! Andy wore blue to the ultrasound. I chose to wear yellow to be neutral. I did change into blue before I went back to work though:).
My mom, Desiree and Nico came in to spend a few days with us so it was fun to celebrate with them. After the ultrasound we all met up with Andy's mom for a nice breakfast at Blue Bird Cafe.
We plan to name him John after Andy's grandfather. We will call him Jack for a nickname. We have been calling the baby Jack since I found out I was pregnant so maybe we did have a little bit of intuition...I guess we had a 50% chance of being correct!
What a fun day!!

Ultrasound Video

Here is a little clip from our ultrasound this morning. Of course he practically stopped moving right when Andy started filming. During the rest of the ultrasound he was sucking on his fingers, kicking his feet, and playing with his umbilical cord. We can't wait until he is ready to come out and play with us!

It's a...

BOY!!!
I am headed back to work right now, but I just wanted to update everyone quick. We have a little movie and lots of ultrasound pics so I will post those tonight. Trust me, he's a cutie!!
And they showed us three times to confirm, so we are about as close as can be to 100% sure.
We love him!

19.5 weeks

And yes, Baby Litton & I are getting bigger! I am having strangers ask me when I'm due. I guess that's what it will be like for the next 20 weeks. I can feel the baby move quite a bit and Andy has felt the baby twice now. Second trimester pregnancy is so fun!

And our 20 week ultrasound is this Thursday at 8am. We will try to post ultrasound pictures shortly after. Stay tuned...

My husband, the Triathlete

Yesterday Andy competed in his first triathlon up at Lake Okoboji. He has spent the past few months training, reading books, and getting geared up for this race. Being pregnant, I opted out of the race, and did my wifely duty of writing his race number all over his arms and legs (much easier!). I noticed one mom that had a 4 month old baby that did the triathlon and another one that probably finished in the top 5 that had twins so maybe they will be my inspiration for next year.
Here is Andy just a few minutes before the race started. I think there were right around 300 participants. It was probably no warmer than 55 degrees at the time. And anyone that has ever been in Lake Okoboji knows that it is never warm. He didn't seem to mind.
0.6 mile swim
And here he is at his first transition getting ready to head out to do the 18 mile bike around west lake.

And here he is with less than half a mile to go of the 10K run portion. He looked great and was smiling through the entire thing. Being a spectator, I can't say that about all of the participants.
And here he is about 30 seconds after he finished. I was so proud of him! I think there will be many more triathlons in his future. His finishing time was right around 2 hours and 2 minutes.
Great job, Andy!

(And mom, I promise I will post a better belly picture soon, but here you can even see it from the front in a baggy hoody)
